OK, I don't want Uncle Lar to feel bad for breaking the comics blogosphere, so here are some links I was thinking of putting up anyway:

• Jason Kimble takes issue with Augie De Blieck, Jr.'s comments regarding CrossGen, arguing that, ultimately, CrossGen itself was to blame for its failures, not readers or retailers.

• Over at Newsarama, Troy Brownfield looks at several manga-influenced American comics, including Death: At Death's Door, Blue Monday: Absolute Beginners, and Big Clay Pot.

• The latest issue of The Comics Journal features contributions by several past and present members of the comics blogosphere:  Sean Collins, Bill Sherman, Tim O'Neil, Alan David Doane, and some guy named Dirk Deppey.  (Thanks to Shawn Hoke for the link.)

Well, it's not much, but at least Uncle Lar knows we're still out here.
